…And it makes me happy to see a commonality between myself and someone who gets to write for a living! Thanks, Steve! Made my night (although I’m just seeing this just now)!
There is someone who thinks of her every day. Wouldn’t it be great to find him?
That is precisely what you’re supposed to be reminded of. The story was inspired by some details of the List murders. It came from watching a documentary about the crime one night (I’ve read two books about it too) and being reminded that his oldest daughter was the kind of girl I might have liked in high school. From there I wondered—what if there had been someone like that for List’s daughter?
Very nice! I’m reminded of the story of John List (read the story before visiting the link) with an alternate, more satisfying ending.
I Don’t Think We’ll Come Here Again
I hope you’re comfortable, Mr. West. We’ll be here for a bit. I have a story to tell you.
Don’t shake your head, Mr. West.
Besides, it’s a love story.
Everyone loves a love story.
